Audrey Hates Disneyworld!

We want to take the family to Disneyworld for Christmas, but Audrey isn’t cooperating, and we feel horrible leaving her at home!

It is completely insane that she reacts like this. She is scared of “stuffed animal” people. We have the only child in the world that is terrified of Disneyworld! It’s the happiest place on earth, right?

Creepy Things

Last week Audrey was in her school’s talent show. It was nice that she made it in, only 30 something acts made it in out of the 95 that tried out. We are very proud of her!

She chose to sing a song that she wrote herself, titled, “Creepy Things”.

VS Models Are Old Women?

Today my son picks up the newest Victoria’s Secret swimsuit catalog. He points to the model on the back cover and says, “Duck!” Audrey takes the catalog from him and says, “That’s not a duck. That’s an inappropriate old lady!”

It’s pretty funny to hear someone referring to a VS model as an old lady, but I guess from a 7-year-old’s prospective, it is true.

Boring Speech Mom!

Monday morning I was driving Audrey to school, and practicing the speech I had to give that night out loud. She says, “Mom… Didn’t you talk about SWG already in a speech?” I replied, “Yes I did.” She says, “All you talk about is video games! You already talked about video games. Everyone is going to be sitting there staring at you thinking, ‘OMG! She already talked about video games. That’s all she talks about! Boring!’” So encouraging when you are already super nervous!

Good Looking Family

Today Audrey asked me, “Mom, why are we such a good looking family?” I respond with, “I don’t know what you mean Audrey.” She replies, “You know… Our family looks better than other families.” I say, “Audrey, I’m sure everyone else thinks their family looks good too.”

Somersaults in the Classroom

Last week I received a note from Audrey’s teacher about missing behavior notes, which I found shredded up under the couch cushions. Today her teacher emailed me, and told me that she found Audrey’s behavior sheet from last week in her desk, and she had scribbled on it. She did not tell me what it was that Audrey actually did. I assumed it was the usual, talking in class, maybe even putting her feet up again, but to my surprise, it was quite surprising.

I asked her to bring me the behavior sheet, and after reading it, I had to turn my face away to keep from laughing. No, I don’t think that misbehaving in class is funny, but it was just so outrageous. It read, “Doing somersaults on the carpet.” Somersaults in class? Who does that? Apparently my child. I said to her, “Why did you do a somersault in class?” and she responded, “Well, she told us to take out our math books, and turn to page 4, so I got up and did a somersault.”

Again, I had to look away. It was just picturing the teacher standing or sitting there, telling the kids to take out their books, and of course the all do, and suddenly, one child jumps up and starts doing random somersaults. Her poor teacher. We are going to have to buy her a nice gift at the end of the year.

Note From the Teacher

Today Audrey brought home a note from her teacher, and for once she wasn’t doing something outlandish! It read:

“Audrey had an awesome day at school today! As soon as she got in the classroom this morning she got started on her morning work and wrote 6 original sentences with the word wall words. She continued to work hard the rest of the day also! She is always caring toward her friends and fellow classmates too. With a little encouragement Audrey can do anything she puts her mind to! Keep up the good work Audrey!

She was so proud of that note, so I’m going to put it in her baby book.

Windows Has Been Corrupted

Today I decided that I would pull Audrey’s monitor to the front of her desk, and tilt it towards the floor so that Boo Bear could watch some shows on Netflix. When I started up her computer it took quite awhile, and then finally came to her desktop, and to my surprise, the start-up menu was missing. When I right-clicked on the desktop, nothing came up either. I brought up the task manager using Ctrl-Alt-Del, and there was nothing there… Oh there were a few processes running, but not what should have been running, and there most definitely should have been more than a few. So now there is no way to access any of the files on her computer, Time to upgrade to the next version of Windows anyway, I suppose. I had wondered why she wasn’t using her computer any longer! I hope she remembers her Webkinz password she had saved!

Cash, Check, or Charge

Apparently that would be check. Tonight my husband found a set of old checks in Audrey’s backpack. A few were missing, and there were a few loose that she had attempted to fill out with a very thick magic marker. When I questioned her about this, she actually tried to convince me that I put them there a long time ago and forgot. Wasn’t really buying that one! She finally admitted that she filled them out for everyone during her reading class. I’m not really sure how this got by the teacher, lol. It could be that she just thought we were really odd letting Audrey have a book of checks… I have now emailed her teacher and asked her to check Audrey’s desk and cubby to make sure there aren’t anymore of our checks hanging out at school.
